Tuesday Morning Poetry

Naked Except For The Jewelry

“And,” she said, “you must talk no more
about ecstasy. It is loneliness.”
The woman wandered about picking up
her shoes and silks. “You said you loved me,”
the man said. “We tell lies,” she said,
brushing her wonderful hair, naked except
for the jewelry. “We try to believe.”
“you were helpless with joy,” he said,
“moaning and weeping.” “In the dream,” she said,
“we pretend to ourselves that we are touching.
The heart lies to itself because it must.”

Tuesday Morning Poetry

We find out the heart only by dismantling what
the heart knows. By redefining the morning,
we find a morning that comes just after darkness.
We can break through marriage into marriage.
By insisting on love we spoil it, get beyond
affection and wade mouth-deep into love.
We must unlearn the constellations to see the stars.
But going back toward childhood will not help.
The village is not better than Pittsburgh.
Only Pittsburgh is more than Pittsburgh.
Rome is better than Rome in the same way the sound
of racoon tongues licking the inside walls
of the garbage tub is more than the stir
of them in the muck of the garbage. Love is not
enough. We die and are put into the earth forever.
We should insist while there is still time. We must
eat through the wildness of her sweet body already
in our bed to reach the body within the body.

A brief political statement

This most coherent logical argument for or against SSM that I have ever heard. This is a public policy debate. It should not be based facts.

Tuesday Morning Poetry

The truth is, goddesses are lousy in bed.

They will do anything it’s true.

And the skin is beautifully cared for.

But they have no sense of it. They are

all manner and amazing technique.

I lie with them thinking of your

foolish excess, of your panting

and sweating, and your eyes after.

Tagged.

Lil Bit not so recently tagged me with this. Being a procrastinating slacker who doesn't blog much any more I am just getting to it.

The rules:
1. Just state what kind of sports car will you buy if you have a ton of money at the moment.

Hmmmmmm. It would have to be a convertible. That thought lead to a flashback to the muscle cars that were cheap in my youth: Chevy Camaro (owned) and Olds 442 (owned) Pontiac LeMans (owned). They were great but I've been there and done that. What about cool rag tops I have drive: a Shelby Cobra (friends found two in a barn and they completely refurbed them)[A shit load of power in a car that handled like a 73 Gremlin.] 64 1/2 and 65 and 66 Mustangs (cool little car but may be something more) and a couple of Vettes (not the really cool late 50s early 60s variants just the boring, well as boring a Corvette gets, 70s model. But again been there done that. Lil Bit had a Dodge Viper on her list. Interesting but taken. The winner is.....
